Bike & culture 2hrs, guided tour: Stone worker's heritage

Guided bike tour - 2 hrs. Discover local history with focus on beautiful scenery, granite, architechture and the legacy of the era when thousands of men worked the local granite slabs to durable cobblestone and building material. The impressive church that still dominates Lysekil's skyline is made from such granite.

By using a bike, we are able to visit the remote shores of the Stångehuvud nature reserve with smooth granite, once caressed by waves and yet reaching the granite-clad streets of central  Lysekil and other places of interest and natural beauty (artwork and buildings) along the way.

Use your own bike - or rent one from us. (more info below)

We pass Gullmarsvallen (voted as Sweden's most beautiful sports ground), through a road of standing stones and eventually passing the former Sea Side Resort Area and the rest of Södra Hamnen (Southern Harbour).

The final stretch takes us through central Lysekil where we see examples of works of art and buildings in granite. From Stadsparken we head back towards Gamlestan and Norra Hamnen.
